Succeeded in enhancing strength of single strand chains as key parts to transmit power from motors, roller chains are used in various fields, such as steel, cement, machine tools, and heavy machinery. Especially when large load bearing is required, double strand chains have typically been used to increase rupture strength of chains.
The Double Capacity Chain, which we newly launched in the domestic market, is a single strand chain that provides almost twice the rupture strength of conventional products. This is enabled by layering additional plates over both inside and outside of existing plates of single strand chains. It can be operated on sprockets for single strand chains while maintaining approximately 95% of rupture strength of double strand chains. Moreover, it also provides space saving and light weight effects with about 25% reduction of width and about 5% reduction of weight compared with a double strand chain. If use conditions are met, it will enable overall cost reduction.
The double-capacity chain has already been launched in overseas markets and has been widely adopted mainly for heavy machinery in the U.S. market through our U.S. affiliate MAXCO CHAIN, Ltd.
We are now proactively making approaches mainly to heavy machinery companies so as to develop and expand this unique, high-value-added product also in the domestic market.
